QAU Waives HEC USAT Requirement for BS Admissions

QAU Waives HEC USAT Requirement for BS Admissions

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has waived the requirement to appear in the Higher Education Commission’s Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) for students seeking admission to its BS programs during the current admission cycle.

What the University Announced

In an official announcement, the university said:

  • All prospective applicants can now apply for BS admissions regardless of whether they have taken the HEC USAT
  • Candidates who appeared in the USAT, whether they qualified or not, remain eligible to apply

Only USAT Requirement Waived

QAU clarified that the waiver applies only to the USAT requirement for the current admission cycle. All other rules stay in place:

  • Applicants must meet all conditions of QAU’s Admission Policy
  • Program-specific eligibility criteria remain unchanged
  • Merit and academic standards will not be relaxed

Who Will Benefit

The decision is expected to provide greater flexibility to students who:

  • Were unable to appear in the HEC USAT
  • Missed the test due to any reason
  • Did not qualify but still meet program requirements

For thousands of students hoping to secure admission at one of Pakistan’s top public universities, this waiver removes a big hurdle. However, competition for BS seats will still be strong, so applicants must meet all other academic and program-specific requirements.
