The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has rejected claims that its recent disciplinary action was linked to students raising concerns or expressing disagreement with the administration.
University’s Position
UET said each case was:
- Reviewed separately by relevant committees
- Decided based on evidence, including:
- CCTV footage
- Witness statements
- Written replies
- Social media records
Numbers From the Past 21 Months
- Total students investigated: 43
- Expelled: 9
- Suspended for one semester: 13
- Financial penalty: 14
- Cleared due to lack of evidence: 7
Fair Process Followed
According to UET, all students were:
- Allowed to present their side before final decisions
- Given the right to challenge decisions before the university’s appellate committee
Hostel Rules Violations
The university also clarified that action taken against hostel residents was:
- Linked to violations of accommodation rules
- Not connected to any political or academic activity
UET’s Stance
UET said it fully supports:

- Responsible expression
However, action will continue in cases involving:
- Violence
- Harassment
- Intimidation
- Disorder
- Misinformation
