Kamran Hayat, the son of slain Pakistani journalist Hayatullah Khan, has completed a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Teesside University in the United Kingdom.
His achievement has received widespread praise as a story of determination following years of personal tragedy, displacement and financial hardship.
Kamran Lost Both Parents at a Young Age
Kamran was a young child when his father was abducted in North Waziristan in December 2005. Hayatullah Khan’s body was recovered in June 2006.
Kamran’s mother was later killed in a grenade attack in 2007, leaving him and his siblings orphaned.
Despite these circumstances, he continued his education at different schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before completing an undergraduate degree in Accounting in Abbottabad.
Completed Studies While Working Part-Time
Kamran later secured admission to Teesside University for an MSc in Accounting and Finance.
According to reports, he worked part-time to support himself while completing his degree in the UK.
